In the Dragon's Den TV show, wealthy entrepreneurs sat in judgement of the prototype Trunki but could not see its potential as a business investment, even though the panel included fathers, Peter Jones and Duncan Balantyne. The show was broadcast in 2006 by the BBC in the UK.
This did not deter Rob Law from developing the Trunki business through his innovative design company, Magmatic. This same company launches the BoostApak in 2010, the car booster seat which turns into a backpack.
Trunki, a Suitcase Kids Can Ride On
Trunki is not just a suitcase, it addresses the problem of boredom and the tired little legs of traveling children who might spend hours in queues, particularly at airports. The case is designed to be sat on.
Not only can it double as a seat, Trunki has a strap, like many suitcases it can be pulled on its wheels. Trunki has one more gift to offer, it is uniquely designed to be pulled by its strap with a child riding with out toppling over, bits breaking off or completely falling apart.
Lightweight Hand Luggage for Children
Trunki cases are excellent for serious travelers, they have the capacity to hold 18l and weigh just 1.7kg. The dimensions are 46cm x 21cm x 32cm. That is 3.7lb and approximately 18" x 8" x 13" in imperial measurements. Trunki is made of the same hard, lightweight material as adult suitcases.
The cases include: a carry handle; internal pouch; locking catches; teddybear seatbelts (of course); a "passport" for downloads and entertainment for traveling kids; ID label.
Colourful Bags for Toddlers
As one would expect from children's luggage, trunk comes in a variety of bold colours and feature animal designs. The children's suitcases are currently available in pink, blue, yellow and orange.

Buying a Trunki Child's Suitcase
Trunki will appeal to toddlers, preschool and young children up to about 8 years of age, possibly older. Adults may also secretly covet this toddler's bag! A toddler's suitcase could be an ideal birthday or Christmas gift for a baby or young child.
Trunki is available across the world through various retailers. Different offers and promotions may be available at any time but as a guide one can expect to pay less than $60 in the US and about £30 in the UK.
