Perhaps you have twins or two or three young children close in age. This article will help you choose between the various models of Baby Jogger for transporting two or three children. There are several different double buggies in a range of funky colours, a buggy board and a triple stroller to consider.
There are four different models of twin Baby Jogger strollers:
- City Mini, light weight
- City Elite,
- City Select, the only tandem, children sit one behind the other
- Summit XC, which is also available as a triple.
The Baby Jogger Glider Board, which retails for $80, can be connected to any of the doubles. It can carry a child of up to 45lb, which is typically reached between aged five and six years; alternatively, the glider board can be useful for carrying shopping.
All of the doubles are suitable from birth, come in a choice of interesting colours, have lockable swivel wheels, quick-fold technology enables folding in one simple move, suspension system on front wheels (all wheels for the Summit), multi-position sun canopy, clear view windows and can take at least one infant car seat.
Note: The triple Summit cannot carry an infant car seat whereas the Select is compatible with two, making it suitable for twins. Furthermore, the Select is the only stroller in the group which can take two of the bassinets.
Only the Elite and the Select have handles with adjustable heights.
Running With a Double Baby Jogger
Note: Jogging is not recommended with young small babies; beyond six months of age, it depends on the design of the buggy. Of these strollers:
- the Mini and the Select are for walking the streets
- the Elite has larger wheels and is suitable for power walking
- the Summit is suitable for light jogging
Baby Jogger Double Stroller for Busy Streets & Shops
As the only tandem model, the Select is best for going through narrow doorways, the other strollers should fit in modern shops. The Mini and Elite are both 29.75" wide and the Summit is wider at 32.5". The City Mini is the lightest of the strollers.
All Terrain Twin Jogger
City Elite and Summit XC both have large wheels and, as such, are all terrain strollers. City Mini and City Select have that sleek jogger look about them but are just for pounding the pavements at a steady pace.
